Full job description
Attain is seeking a Head of Data Apps Engineering to lead a small team of mobile and backend engineers building consumer mobile apps on a shared backend platform. The role involves hands-on coding, setting technical direction, collaborating closely with product leadership, and representing the data apps business at the executive level. Candidates should have 10+ years of software engineering experience with consumer-facing mobile products, deep backend expertise including APIs, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure, and production experience with React Native or similar cross-platform mobile frameworks. Experience managing small engineering teams and presenting to executives is required. The position is full-time with a hybrid work schedule in Chicago, Illinois and Redwood City, California.
What you'll do
- Lead architecture and hands-on development across the app portfolio: React Native front ends on a shared, multi-app backend platform
- Partner daily with the portfolio's product lead on roadmap, feasibility, and sequencing
