Full job description

Seeking an experienced Head of Accounting Operations to lead global accounting functions including payroll, intercompany transactions, and long-term assets. Responsibilities include managing accounting operations ensuring compliance with US GAAP, driving ERP closing and implementation, optimizing accounting processes, and leading automation initiatives. The role requires partnership with Corporate Tax, Finance, IT, and Operations teams. Provide leadership by developing and mentoring the accounting team, fostering innovation and technology adoption, and evolving the accounting operating model. Requirements include 15+ years accounting experience with 5+ years in senior leadership, expertise in US GAAP and ERP systems (Oracle Fusion or SAP S/4 Hana), strong leadership, project management, and communication skills. Fluent English required; French is a plus. Position is full-time, hybrid based in Barcelona or Paris.

What you'll do

  • Lead and manage global accounting operations ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with US GAAP
  • Drive timely closing in the ERP with strong collaboration with Consolidation team and FP&A
  • Ensure robust internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Oversee and optimize accounting processes including payroll, intercompany transactions, and fixed assets
  • Partner with Corporate Tax to ensure accurate transfer pricing policy application and drive governance and automation
  • Collaborate with Finance, IT, and Operations to enhance financial reporting and controls
  • Own the global Chart of Accounts and partner with Transformation team to design and maintain scalable data model
  • Define and drive ERP implementation strategy aligning systems, processes, and data structures
  • Champion automation, technology, and process improvements to minimize manual effort and increase speed and accuracy
  • Partner with upstream functions to facilitate consistent finance data practices
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing accounting team fostering innovation, collaboration, and excellence
  • Foster a culture of technology acceptance to drive automation and accounting software use
  • Inspire team to increase financial accuracy and transparency via clear definitions and standards
  • Oversee talent management plans to develop high-performing finance, accounting, and digital talent
  • Continuously evaluate and evolve the accounting operating model to streamline processes and enhance consistency

Requirements

  • 15+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the technology sector
  • Minimum of 5 years leading teams in a senior role
  • Bachelor degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • Deep expertise in US GAAP (IFRS knowledge is a strong plus)
  • Professional Certification such as CPA or CMA is highly desirable
  • Proven track record of running an efficient accounting operation, business processes, and financial management controls environment
  • Proven track record in accounting transformations and ERP implementation
  • Significant expertise with Oracle Fusion or SAP S/4 Hana and process redesign and optimization
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive change in a complex environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and project management abilities
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent English; French is a strong plus
