Full job description
Samba TV is hiring a Full Stack Engineer to join the Agentic Product Engineering team in San Francisco. The role involves building and owning features end to end across an AI/backend engine, Node/TypeScript service layer, and React streaming UI. Responsibilities include backend service extension, streaming and asynchronous state handling, UI development with React, testing, instrumentation, and staged product launches. Candidates should have strong JavaScript/TypeScript and Node skills, hands-on React experience, knowledge of streaming protocols (SSE, WebSockets), relational databases (PostgreSQL), cloud deployment (AWS, GCP, Azure), and good collaboration skills. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with typically 4+ years in full stack/web application development is required. Experience with modern SSR React frameworks, AI/LLM application development, type-safe API contracts, modern tooling, auth flows, observability tools, and scripting languages is a plus.

Owned significant features end to end across the stack — services, APIs, and UI
Strong in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node
Write clean, type-safe code and lean on the type system
Comfortable working in backend services and APIs
Experience with data flowing over REST and SSE
Meaningful, hands-on React experience and solid grasp of the web platform
Experience with streaming and asynchronous state (SSE, WebSockets), reconnection and mid-flight failure, rendering performance under long-running token streams, and accessibility
Ability to carry front-end work when needed
Clear thinker about trade-offs and able to write clear designs
Solid with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and SQL
Experience with Git and CI/CD
Understanding of cloud application deployment and operation (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Good collaborator with clear communication and openness to feedback
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Typically 4+ years of professional full stack / web application development
