Full job description

Smartly is hiring a mid-level Fullstack Software Engineer to join the Editor team focused on creative production tooling. The role involves owning feature development from design to completion, collaborating with Product and Design teams, and contributing to technical planning. Candidates must have at least 3 years of frontend web application experience, strong React and TypeScript skills, a self-driven work style, and ability to work hybrid from Helsinki office 3 days a week. What you'll do

  • Own features from technical design to completion ensuring clean code and best practices
  • Work fluently with Product Managers and Designers supporting product discovery and identifying issues early
  • Drive own work independently prioritizing tasks for steady progress
  • Contribute to technical planning for frontend monorepo and core packages
  • Be self-sufficient in large codebase areas while understanding Editor's connection to other components
  • Solicit feedback and drive continuous improvement personally and for the team

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience building web applications, with a strong focus on frontend development and clean code
  • Solid expertise in React and TypeScript
  • Self-driven mindset with ability to manage own time and prioritize work without constant oversight
  • Strong collaborative skills working with Product and UX teams
  • Eagerness to learn and improve, applying best practices
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work in a hybrid capacity from Helsinki office 3 days a week
