Full job description

StackAdapt is hiring a mid-level full-time remote engineer in Canada to develop and maintain their advertising platform. The role involves working with large data sets and modern technologies including GoLang, Ruby on Rails, React, GraphQL, Typescript, and Redux. Responsibilities include designing scalable distributed systems, writing test-driven code, participating in sprint planning, collaborating on API and backend architecture, and owning projects end-to-end. Candidates should have 2+ years of experience building performant web applications, knowledge of the full stack technologies mentioned, experience with scalable system design for web APIs, and basic cloud platform knowledge (AWS, GCP, Azure). Experience in AdTech and large-scale Ruby on Rails/GraphQL projects is a plus. What you'll do

  • Work directly with users and drive projects to completion end-to-end
  • Design, improve, and debug complex, scalable distributed systems
  • Write extensible, scalable and test-driven code
  • Participate in sprint planning and architectural decision-making
  • Collaborate on designing scalable, well tested, and well documented web architecture including APIs and backend systems
  • Take responsibility and ownership of projects from start to finish
  • Contribute to code reviews and technical spec reviews

Requirements

  • 2+ years of full-time work experience building highly performant web applications
  • Knowledge of React, Typescript, Redux, Ruby on Rails
  • Experience with implementing a client-facing project end-to-end, from design to delivery
  • Strong understanding of scalable system design for web-based APIs (GraphQL, gRPC or REST) and backend processing systems
  • Experience collaborating closely with Product & Design to design, implement and iterate on high impact end-to-end product experiences
  • Experience working on large scale Ruby on Rails / GraphQL projects is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of AWS or other equivalent cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, etc.)
  • Experience analyzing, benchmarking and optimizing web application page load performance across the entire stack
  • Experience with the AdTech industry is a plus
