Engineer II role in Belfast with a hybrid schedule (Monday/Friday remote, Tuesday to Thursday in-office). The role involves building and maintaining React applications for ad-serving lifecycle management. Responsibilities include writing production-ready code and unit tests, responding to feature requests and bugs, collaborating with multiple teams, and supporting production services. Requirements include extensive React experience, proficiency with front-end data handling and RESTful APIs (Java Spring Boot), strong UI/UX skills, experience in distributed teams, availability for overlap hours with US teams, strong CS fundamentals, a relevant bachelor's degree, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication. What you'll do
- Write production-ready code and unit tests meeting system and business requirements
- Respond to feature requests, bug reports, performance issues, and ad-hoc questions
- Work collaboratively with multiple teams to deliver quality software
- Support operation of services in production
Requirements
- Extensive experience building and scaling modern, high-traffic React applications
- Proficiency in front-end data handling, including leveraging API mocks and integrating with RESTful services like Java Spring Boot
- Strong understanding of UI/UX implementation, translating design mocks into high-fidelity, responsive, reusable components
- Proven track record of writing production-ready code and comprehensive unit tests
- Experience working in a collaborative, distributed engineering environment with U.S.-based cross-functional teams
- Availability during core overlap hours (3 pm – 5 pm GMT) for real-time collaboration with teams in New York, Colorado, and Los Angeles
- Strong computer science fundamentals including browser performance, state management, asynchronous programming
- Minimum B.S. in CS/EE, Math, Physics, or related field
- Ability to balance high-quality development with pragmatism and rapid product delivery
- Creative problem-solving skills for complex ad serving tools
- Drive to participate fully in shaping product and business
