Verve is seeking a mid-level Risk Manager for a hybrid role (3 days in office) in New York. The role involves partnering with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate enterprise, operational, regulatory, and commercial risks. Responsibilities include advising leadership on risk, driving risk initiatives, leading cross-functional programs, developing risk frameworks, collaborating with Legal, Finance, Product, Revenue, and Operations teams, and establishing governance and reporting processes. The candidate should balance risk management with commercial considerations, communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, and thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment. What you'll do
- Act as a strategic advisor to leadership on enterprise, operational, regulatory, and commercial risk
- Identify, assess, prioritize, and monitor risks across the organization
- Own and drive initiatives aimed at addressing key risk items
- Lead cross-functional risk programs and remediation efforts
- Develop and maintain pragmatic risk frameworks, controls, and mitigation plans
- Partner with Legal, Finance, Product, Revenue, and Operations teams to embed risk considerations
- Translate risk insights into clear, actionable recommendations
- Establish reporting and governance processes leveraging risk management platforms
- Promote a risk-aware culture enabling informed decisions
- Stay ahead of evolving regulatory, market, and operational risks
