The role involves owning the vision and roadmap for the platform layer of the Bidding Platform, focusing on efficiency, reliability, scalability, and security. Responsibilities include delegating ownership of platform areas, delivering self-service platform capabilities, data-driven decision making, IT-wide capacity planning, and managing on-call alarm frameworks. Candidates must have 2+ years in a technical leadership role, strong hands-on experience in distributed systems and systems engineering, knowledge of concurrent programming, critical performance analysis skills, and strong programming background. Fluency in English and Polish at C1 level is required. The tech stack includes Java, Python, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Aerospike, Memcached, Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, MinIO, Kafka, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Jenkins, and Graphite. The position offers a B2B contract with 100% remote work option or office presence in Warsaw or Cracow.

- Own the vision and roadmap for the platform layer of the Bidding Platform focusing on efficiency, reliability, scalability, and security
- Define the team's evolving scope as the platform grows, with room to shape areas of interest
- Delegate ownership of platform areas (monitoring, deployment, security) to senior engineers and support them
- Deliver team's capabilities as self-service platforms with clear usage contracts
- Base decisions on data, running experiments and gathering evidence before deciding
- Participate in IT-wide capacity planning for platform scaling
- Own the framework for dispatching on-call alarms and drive elimination of noisy alarms without personal duty rotation
Requirements
- 2+ years in a technical leadership role (Team Lead / Engineering Manager), including leading project teams

- Comprehensive understanding of complex IT systems spanning hardware, software, and algorithms
- Knowledge of concurrent programming and distributed systems
- Critical performance analysis skills - from theoretical estimation to production optimization
- Strong programming background and the ability to dive deep into code reviews when needed
- Experience building platform capabilities as products for other engineering teams - defining clear usage contracts and best practices, and driving cross-team technical rollouts by enabling and guiding those teams
- Comfortable owning a technical area end-to-end and communicating across teams
- Self-directed, proactive approach
- C1-level English and Polish fluency
