Full job description

BidMachine Exchange is seeking a senior Engineering/Product Manager to design, build, and scale high-performance, low-latency systems for ad serving, bidding, and monetization. Responsibilities include owning features end-to-end, collaborating with product managers and data teams, working on real-time data pipelines and optimization algorithms, improving system reliability and scalability, contributing to architecture and technical strategy, mentoring engineers, and iterating to improve monetization and platform efficiency. Requirements include 5+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience in high-scale environments, proficiency in backend languages (Go, Java, Kotlin, Python, C++), understanding of distributed systems, microservices, low-latency system design, data structures, algorithms, experience with real-time systems and databases (SQL/NoSQL), and a product mindset. Nice to have experience includes AdTech, programmatic advertising, RTB, large-scale data processing (Kafka, Flink, Spark), cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), experimentation frameworks, and ML-driven optimization. The role offers relocation support to Barcelona or Parkland, Florida, and a hybrid or office-based work environment with an international engineering team.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, and scale high-performance, low-latency systems powering ad serving, bidding, and monetization
  • Own features end-to-end: from product requirements to architecture, implementation, and production rollout
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, data teams, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions
  • Work on real-time data pipelines, decision engines, and optimization algorithms
  • Improve system reliability, scalability, and performance under high load (millions of requests per second)
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy
  • Mentor engineers and promote best practices in code quality, testing, and observability
  • Continuously experiment and iterate to improve monetization outcomes and platform efficiency

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in backend or full-stack engineering, ideally in high-scale environments
  • Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages (Go, Java, Kotlin, Python, or C++)
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
  • Solid understanding of high-load, low-latency system design
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and performance optimization
  • Experience working with real-time systems, streaming, or event-driven architectures
  • Familiarity with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and data processing systems
  • Product mindset: ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Strong ownership and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
