Full job description

StackAdapt is seeking a lead engineering manager for their Data Hub team. The role involves leading a team to build solutions for managing first-party customer data, hiring and mentoring full-stack engineers, and collaborating with product and design teams. Candidates should have at least 2 years of engineering management experience, 6+ years in software development with expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Redux, Ruby/Ruby on Rails, and strong computer science fundamentals. The position is remote-first, open to candidates anywhere in North America. What you'll do

  • Lead a team that builds solutions to help customers integrate and manage their first-party customer data
  • Hire and mentor a new team of full-stack engineers across different levels of seniority
  • Cultivate a high performance team that executes against their roadmap while following agile best practices
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Designers to ensure requirements and priorities align
  • Promote software development best-practices and conduct rigorous code reviews
  • Plan ahead and architect scalable web APIs, component library and backend systems
  • Rigorously identify and solve technical challenges
  • Conduct interviews to attract and identify potential high performing candidates
  • Balance and prioritize projects to maximize efficiency and ensure company objectives are achieved
  • Write code as needed, such as those involving issue resolution and low-effort high-impact items

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of engineering management experience leading full stack teams
  • Proven track record of delivering results and leading high-impact teams
  • Prior experience working on customer data platforms, customer identity systems, or bulk data management systems is preferred
  • In-depth experience with JavaScript or Typescript, CSS, HTML
  • Experience working with React.js and Redux
  • At least 6 years experience of software development in web technologies and architecting scalable systems in a successful high-growth technology company
  • Experience with a Ruby or Ruby on Rails backend is a plus
  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals: data structures, system design, cloud computing, full-stack development
  • Passion to build a positive and fun engineering culture
