Full job description

StackAdapt is hiring a senior Engineering Manager I to lead a full-stack engineering team of 6-8 engineers focused on building scalable web APIs, backend systems, and UI components for their advertising platform. The role requires at least 5 years of full-stack development experience and 2 years of leadership managing teams with 3+ direct reports. Candidates must have strong skills in Typescript, React, GraphQL, and experience with frontend libraries like Redux, Zustand, Jest. Experience with Ruby on Rails backend and AWS is a plus. Responsibilities include mentoring engineers, hands-on coding, code reviews, project design, collaborating with product and design teams, conducting interviews, and prioritizing projects. The position is full-time and remote, open to candidates in North America. What you'll do

  • Lead and mentor a team of 6-8 engineers within full-stack web engineering
  • Make a positive impact on the team's productivity and growth
  • Act as a hands-on manager and participate in project design and implementation
  • Promote software development best practices and conduct rigorous code reviews
  • Plan and architect scalable web APIs and backend systems, and build UI components
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Designers to ensure requirements and priorities align
  • Conduct interviews to attract and identify potential high-performing candidates
  • Balance and prioritize projects to maximize efficiency and ensure company objectives are achieved

Requirements

  • Proven track record of delivering results and leading growing high-impact teams
  • At least 5 years experience in full-stack software development in web technologies and architecting scalable systems in a successful high-growth technology company
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience with at least 3 direct reports
  • In-depth experience with Typescript, React and GraphQL
  • Experience working with modern frontend libraries and frameworks (e.g. Redux, Zustand, Jest)
  • Experience scaling a Ruby on Rails backend architecture is a plus
  • Experience in AWS is a plus
  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals including data structures, system design, cloud computing, full-stack development
  • Passion to build a positive and fun engineering culture
