Full job description

Tatari is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team building backend systems for automated TV and CTV media buying. The role involves designing and maintaining data models, queries, and GraphQL APIs, ensuring high uptime for campaign execution services, and collaborating with Product Management to deliver technical solutions. Candidates should have 7+ years of software engineering experience including 2+ years in management, expertise in AdTech programmatic and CTV streaming advertising, strong skills in data modeling, APIs, relational databases, and familiarity with Python, AWS, Airflow, and queuing systems. The position offers a hybrid work model with 2 days per week in-office in New York, NY, and a compensation range of $185,000 to $210,000 plus equity and benefits.

What you'll do

  • Lead design, development, and maintenance of core backend systems including data models, queries, and GraphQL APIs
  • Partner with Product Management to translate media buying needs into technical requirements and execution plans
  • Ensure 99.9%+ uptime for Campaign Execution services including campaign/order processing and traffic delivery
  • Drive sprint planning, prioritization, dependency management, and delivery commitments
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership through architectural guidance, design reviews, and code quality standards
  • Identify and reduce technical debt affecting reliability, scalability, or developer velocity
  • Foster a healthy, inclusive, high-ownership engineering culture
  • Manage and develop engineers through 1:1s, coaching, feedback, and career development

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Minimum 2 years in an engineering management role
  • Experience in AdTech, with expertise in programmatic and CTV streaming advertising
  • Linear TV experience is a strong plus
  • Strong technical background in data modeling, APIs, and relational databases
  • Familiarity with Python, AWS, Airflow, and queuing systems
  • Data driven decision making using metrics/SLAs
  • Strong communication and people skills
