Full job description

Integral Ad Science seeks a Director, Revenue Accounting to manage revenue accounting and reporting under US GAAP (ASC 606). The role includes managing a team, overseeing monthly close, internal controls, and process improvements. Responsibilities include contract analysis for revenue recognition, collaboration with cross-functional teams, managing revenue close processes, maintaining SOX compliance, leading revenue projects and analyses, supporting audits, and driving departmental goals. Requirements include a Bachelor's in Accounting, CPA preferred, 5+ years in accounting with 2+ years managing revenue recognition teams, strong ASC 606 knowledge, SOX and SEC experience, Excel proficiency, and strong communication and organizational skills. What you'll do

  • Analyze and interpret contracts for revenue recognition implications under ASC 606
  • Collaborate with sales, client success, legal, and operations to review contracts
  • Manage monthly revenue close processes ensuring accurate and timely reporting
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls over revenue recognition to ensure SOX compliance
  • Understand transactional flow of revenue through various systems
  • Stay current on changes in revenue recognition standards and assess impact
  • Lead projects around revenue recognition such as SSP methodologies
  • Lead revenue analyses and prepare metrics to report to leadership and business partners
  • Support audits and reviews with documentation and analysis
  • Prepare memos and technical accounting support for revenue recognition matters
  • Identify and communicate risks and issues impacting revenue recognition
  • Manage departmental projects and process improvements including automation
  • Partner with billing and FP&A to coordinate revenue recognition
  • Drive department goals and vision within the team
  • Review work of team members providing feedback, guidance, and coaching

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA with Big 4 experience is highly desirable
  • 5+ years of combined experience in private industry and public accounting
  • 2+ years focused on revenue recognition and managing teams
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles related to revenue recognition (ASC 606)
  • Experience in a public company environment with SOX compliance and SEC reporting
  • Experience with revenue recognition in the digital advertising industry is a plus
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret large volumes of transactional data
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and business partnering skills
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
