Full job description

Moloco is seeking a Director, Associate General Counsel (AGC) for Employment, Ethics & Compliance with 12+ years of experience in labor, employment, ethics, and compliance law. The role is hybrid based in Menlo Park, CA, reporting to the Enterprise Compliance Officer & Associate General Counsel. Responsibilities include providing legal counsel on global employment issues, leading employment dispute resolution, drafting and enhancing ethics and compliance policies, partnering cross-functionally to manage legal risks, supporting third-party risk management, and coordinating with outside counsel on multi-jurisdictional matters. Candidates must be members of the California Bar or eligible to register as in-house counsel, have deep expertise in U.S. employment laws, strong business judgment, communication skills, and experience managing ethics and compliance programs. What you'll do

  • Provide counsel on all global employment-related issues including policies, training, wage and hour compliance, performance management, leave of absence, discipline and terminations, investigations, and AI governance related to employment
  • Lead strategy and resolution of global employment-related disputes and investigations including litigation, agency claims, subpoenas, and internal ethics matters
  • Lead drafting, review, and enhancement of global ethics, compliance, and employment policies and templates including Code of Conduct, employee handbooks, and agreements
  • Partner cross-functionally with global People, Finance, Security, Product, and business leaders to identify legal, compliance, and governance risks and drive solutions
  • Support and mature third-party risk management program including onboarding and optimization of due diligence platform and assessment of anti-bribery & corruption, export controls, and trade compliance risks
  • Work closely with outside counsel to provide coordinated guidance on employment, ethics, ABC, export, and trade compliance matters

Requirements

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in labor, employment, ethics, and compliance, including a mix of law firm and in-house experience
  • Member in good standing of the California Bar or another bar association with the ability to register as in-house counsel in California
  • Deep subject matter expertise in U.S. federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Strong business judgment and risk assessment skills
  • Strong communication and drafting skills
  • Ability to advise and influence executive stakeholders and build collaborative cross-functional relationships
  • Highly organized, proactive, and self-directed with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience leading ethics and compliance programs including drafting and implementing global policies, conducting internal and external investigations, managing third-party compliance risks
  • Experience managing and coordinating global outside counsel for multi-jurisdictional matters
