Full job description
Magnite is seeking a senior Database Platform Engineer to lead technical direction for database infrastructure across on-premise and cloud environments. Responsibilities include owning infrastructure-as-code architecture (Terraform, Puppet), unifying tooling and automation, defining production-ready standards, solving complex database problems, building reference implementations, integrating cloud platforms like Snowflake and Databricks, automating operational tasks, supporting SOX/compliance audits, participating in 24/7 on-call rotation, mentoring engineers, and driving technical standards adoption. Requirements include 6+ years experience with production database platforms at scale, expertise in MySQL, PostgreSQL, RDS, Aurora, hands-on experience with Snowflake or Databricks, strong Terraform and configuration management skills (Puppet preferred), schema migration tooling experience (Flyway, Airflow, Jenkins), fluency in SQL, Python, Bash, and experience with SOX audits. Requirements
6+ years designing and operating production database platforms at scale
Deep expertise across relational platforms — MySQL and its variants, PostgreSQL, RDS, Aurora
Substantial experience running production database platforms at scale in both public cloud and on-premise — managed and self-managed services in AWS or equivalent, plus datacenter infrastructure
Several years hands-on with Snowflake or Databricks, with enough depth to guide platform decisions
Strong Terraform experience and configuration management experience with Puppet (preferred), Ansible, or Chef
Experience with schema migration and orchestration tooling such as Flyway, Airflow, Jenkins or equivalents
Fluency in SQL, Python, and Bash to build tooling
Track record of establishing technical standards adopted by teams not directly managed
Experience growing platform capability in engineers rooted in operations
Hands-on experience supporting SOX or comparable compliance audits in a database context
