Full job description

Tatari seeks a Data Science Manager to lead a team of data scientists focused on AI/ML product development. The role involves managing the team, designing algorithms and models for customer-facing AI features, collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Platform teams, prioritizing AI/ML projects, and ensuring high-quality delivery. Requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in a technical field, at least 2 years management experience, 6 years in Data Science or related roles, strong leadership, strategic thinking, and technical skills in statistics, Python, SQL, AWS, and ML workflows. Preferred experience includes PhD, AI leadership with LLMs or recommender systems, and ad tech or TV media industry knowledge. What you'll do

  • Manage and grow a team of data scientists focused on AI/ML product development
  • Facilitate design of algorithms and models for product features
  • Empower team to innovate and improve algorithms
  • Develop strong working relationships across Product, Engineering, and Infrastructure teams
  • Collaborate to define scope and translate product requirements into technical approaches
  • Own Data Science prioritization for AI/ML outcomes and resource allocation
  • Drive execution of AI/ML projects ensuring timely, high-quality delivery
  • Assess and mitigate risks to delivery and business impacts
  • Promote high-quality experimentation, modeling, and evaluation standards
  • Develop team processes to support fast iteration and scalable AI delivery
  • Conduct performance reviews, coach team members, and support career growth
  • Contribute to hiring and onboarding efforts

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science)
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in a Data Science or related technology role
  • Strong strategic thinking and project management skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to translate complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and develop new features or systems
  • Advanced knowledge of statistics and probability for model development
  • Intermediate to advanced experience in Data Manipulation Software (e.g. SQL, Python)
  • Experience with cloud computing environments (e.g., AWS)
  • Experience with ML workflows or toolkits
  • Nice to have: PhD in a technical field
  • Nice to have: Experience leading AI work including LLMs, embeddings, or ranking/recommender systems
  • Nice to have: TV Media Industry or Ad Tech experience
