Full job description

Verve is seeking a mid-level Data Engineer for a full-time position with a hybrid work option at the NYC office. The role involves collaborating with Product and Strategy teams to build customized reporting solutions, integrating internal and third-party data sources, streamlining rapid prototyping processes, ensuring data integrity through monitoring, experimenting with new technologies, managing releases with Kanban, and maintaining code quality via reviews and automated tests. Candidates should have 2+ years of experience building dashboards with tools like Holistics, Looker, or Tableau, strong SQL skills, experience with data warehouses such as BigQuery or ClickHouse, and ETL/ELT orchestration experience using Airflow, Temporal, or Dagster. Familiarity with Google Cloud or AWS big data products is preferred. The position requires legal authorization to work in the US. What you'll do

  • Collaborate with Product and Strategy teams to build customized reporting solutions for clients
  • Integrate new internal data sources and third-party APIs to enhance reporting capabilities
  • Streamline processes for rapid prototyping to meet new client reporting needs
  • Work with Platform team to create monitoring ensuring data integrity
  • Experiment with new technologies to find the right tools
  • Use Kanban to manage multiple releases per week
  • Maintain high code quality through code reviews and automated tests

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience building customer-facing dashboards and reports using data visualization tools like Holistics, Looker, or Tableau
  • Comfortable writing SQL and manipulating large structured or unstructured datasets for analysis
  • Experience designing schemas and optimizing queries for a data warehouse like BigQuery or ClickHouse
  • Experience building and maintaining batch ETL/ELT jobs using an orchestration platform like Airflow, Temporal, or Dagster
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud or AWS big data products
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
