Smadex, a Barcelona-based Demand Side Platform, is hiring a senior Creative Technologist (Playable Ads Developer) to build high-performing interactive and playable mobile and CTV ad experiences. Reporting to the Director of Creative Solutions, the role involves developing scalable ad templates, designing mobile-first UX for playable ads, optimizing for file size and platform constraints, defining QA processes, debugging SDK and ad delivery issues, automating tests, and collaborating cross-functionally with Creative Design, Ad Ops, and Product teams. Candidates must have 3-7+ years of experience in creative technology for mobile interactive ads, a strong portfolio of playable ads with positive KPI results, expertise in frontend technologies and mobile playable tools (e.g. Phaser, Unity), experience shipping creatives end-to-end, and client-facing commercial awareness. Good to have skills include 3D mobile web experiences, SIMID for CTV, mobile E2E testing, and programmatic ad serving knowledge. The position is full-time, hybrid (2 days remote), located in Barcelona, and requires legal work authorization in Spain. Share insights across teams through internal sessions, documentation, and repeatable templates
Requirements
3-7+ years in creative technology making interactive ads for mobile
Strong portfolio of playable ads delivering positive performance against advertiser KPI
Demonstrated expertise in frontend technologies and libraries for complex interactive experiences/game mechanics under tight constraints
Hands-on experience with mobile playable tools (e.g. Phaser/Pixie, Unity/Cocos export, Playable Factory or platform-specific tools)
Experience shipping and supporting creatives end-to-end (QA, troubleshooting, mobile ad delivery)
Ability to translate performance/measurement needs into clear event tracking and experimentable variants
Commercial awareness and client facing experience in the App AU ecosystem
Good to have: experience building 3D interactive experiences on mobile web
Good to have: experience building SIMID for CTV interactive
Good to have: proven cross-functional collaboration skills and comfort working in fast-paced environments
Good to have: deep experience with mobile E2E testing for ads (various device/OS combinations, ad verification, and publisher SDKs)
Good to have: familiarity with programmatic concepts and practicalities of ad serving & tracking in mobile in-app/playable workflows
Good to have: experience optimizing graphics performance and minimizing asset size for mobile web environments
