Controller

What you'll do

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the accounting function in the US and Canada
• Lead and mentor a team of 6 employees
• Manage shared accounting operations (AP, payroll, T&E) for the company and US subsidiary
• Provide support to additional subsidiaries
• Manage the financial month-end closing process ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Review and assess monthly budget/forecast to actual variance and prepare analysis
• Streamline month-end closing processes and maintain compliance
• Coordinate and act as liaison for year-end audit and tax returns
• Interact with external auditors, tax consultants, and other service providers
• Implement, support and oversee SOX compliance measures
• Implement new policies to meet departmental goals
• Maximize performance and contribution of team members through mentoring and development
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Operations, HR, IT)
• Support company hypergrowth through strong communication and accounting acumen

Requirements

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• CPA or other relevant certification strongly preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
• Public company and/or public accounting experience strongly preferred
• 4+ years of people management experience
• Management of other managers and teams of 3+ strongly preferred
• High technical accounting skills
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX
• Multi-entity and multi-currency experience
• Strong leadership aptitude; ability to mentor talent and foster career development
• Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management
• Ability to foster and manage relationships across multiple departments
• Excellent project management, organizational, analytical and communication skills
• Self-motivated and able to balance multiple priorities while managing to deadlines
