Merkle, a dentsu company, is seeking a senior Commerce Architect to design and evolve Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud (SFCC) solutions including SFRA and PWA Kit / Composable Storefront. Responsibilities include architecting and optimizing digital commerce platforms, maintaining architecture documentation, ensuring architectural integrity across the SFCC SDLC, providing technical guidance and mentorship, reviewing technical designs and code, collaborating with business stakeholders, driving continuous improvement initiatives, participating in project planning, identifying and mitigating technical risks, enforcing coding standards, conducting performance tuning, and acting as a subject matter expert for Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud. Required skills include Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud architecture, SFRA, PWA Kit, Page Designer, OCAPI/SCAPI, Einstein for Commerce, MuleSoft, Data Cloud, Customer 360 platform, Node.js, React, ISML, and SFCC Script. The role offers hybrid work options and is based in Lisbon, Portugal.

What you'll do

  • Design and evolve architecture of Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud solutions
  • Architect and optimize digital commerce platforms end-to-end
  • Develop and maintain architecture documentation
  • Ensure architectural integrity and consistency across SFCC SDLC
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams
  • Review and approve technical designs and code
  • Partner with merchandising, marketing, and business stakeholders
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and architectural designs
  • Stay current with SFCC roadmap and Salesforce platform
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in project planning, sizing, and estimation
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks
  • Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization
  • Maintain comprehensive architectural documentation
  • Prepare and present technical reports and architecture reviews
  • Act as SME for Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud in pitches, RFPs, workshops, and delivery

Requirements

  • Experience designing and evolving architecture of Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud solutions
  • Knowledge of SFRA and PWA Kit / Composable Storefront
  • Experience with storefront, OCAPI/SCAPI integrations, Open Commerce APIs, Page Designer, Einstein for Commerce
  • Ability to develop and maintain architecture documentation
  • Ensure architectural integrity across SFCC SDLC
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship in SFRA, ISML, SFCC Script, Node.js / React
  • Review and approve technical designs and code
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and architectural designs
  • Stay current with SFCC roadmap and Salesforce platform
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives including performance budgets, Core Web Vitals, code quality, CI/CD, and automated testing
  • Participate in project planning, sizing, and estimation
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks such as quota limits, indexing windows, replication cycles, third-party integration failures, PCI scope, peak-season readiness
  • Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization
  • Maintain comprehensive architectural documentation
  • Prepare and present technical reports and architecture reviews
  • Act as SME for Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud in pitches, RFPs, workshops, and delivery
