Full job description

The Trade Desk seeks an Associate Manager of Commission Strategy and Analysis to lead the planning, analysis, and execution of global sales commission programs. The role involves managing a team, overseeing commission forecasting, financial modeling, variance analysis, and partnering with Finance, Accounting, HR, and other teams to ensure alignment with business goals and compliance. Candidates must have 6+ years experience in commission analysis or related fields, strong analytical and leadership skills, and proficiency with data systems and reporting tools such as Confluence. The position is full-time, on-site in New York, NY, and offers a salary range of $93,800 to $172,000 USD along with comprehensive benefits including healthcare, retirement plans, disability coverage, paid time off, and stock purchase options.

What you'll do

  • Lead end-to-end administration, financial analysis, and optimization of global sales commission programs
  • Own commission forecasting and accrual modeling in partnership with Finance
  • Conduct variance analysis on commission payouts versus bookings, revenue, and headcount plans
  • Partner with Accounting on commission accruals, reconciliations, and audit support
  • Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate incentive plan effectiveness and ROI
  • Manage and develop a team responsible for commission calculations, ticket resolution, documentation, and reporting
  • Serve as primary escalation point for complex commission inquiries across multiple departments
  • Deliver executive-ready dashboards, risk assessments, and scenario modeling
  • Drive automation and process improvements in commission workflows and reporting infrastructure
  • Maintain and govern compensation policy documentation ensuring compliance and audit readiness
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives related to incentive design, workforce planning, and compensation strategy

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in commission analysis, revenue, sales support, operations, or related field
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Deep expertise in compensation design, administration, and governance
  • Proven experience managing and developing a team
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex information clearly
  • Experience collaborating with HR, Finance, and other business teams
  • Proficiency with data systems, reporting tools, and documentation platforms (e.g., Confluence)
  • Track record of driving process automation and scalable solutions
  • Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional initiatives
