Full job description

The Associate Director, Finance will oversee financial, accounting, and compliance functions including payroll management, statutory and tax audits, GST compliance, financial reporting, and governance compliance. Responsibilities include payroll verification, tax filings, GST management, month-end close, audits, and financial planning. Requires 10-15 years of experience, strong knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards, Companies Act, tax laws, payroll, GST, transfer pricing, and proficiency in NetSuite and Excel. Chartered Accountant qualification required. The role follows a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote) based in Pune, Maharashtra, India.

What you'll do

  • Oversee monthly payroll verification and ensure data accuracy
  • Review and verify data for monthly payroll returns (PF, ESI, PT, Income Tax TDS, etc.)
  • Manage payroll accounting, reconciliations, and related reporting
  • Supervise gratuity trust operations, employee benefits accounting, and actuarial valuations
  • Handle advance tax working, computation, and payment
  • Ensure timely filing of annual income tax return and completion of tax audit
  • Manage transfer pricing compliance, documentation, and related assessments
  • Attend to GST audits, tax assessments, and transfer pricing audits
  • Ensure correct deduction, deposit, accounting, and filing of TDS returns
  • Manage end-to-end GST compliance including returns, reconciliation, and refunds
  • Oversee GST-related receivables and utilization of credits
  • Handle complex transactions including domestic/local billing to agencies and DSPs
  • Verify DSP/Agency invoices from GST portal and ensure appropriate accounting
  • Maintain control over Input Tax Credit (ITC) accumulation and utilization
  • Manage month-end closing activities including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Coordinate cost-plus billing and invoicing aligned with transfer pricing and intercompany guidelines
  • Handle accounting of publisher invoices/statements and DSP/agency billing
  • Manage RSU and ESPP cross charge workings, accounting, and payments
  • Lead statutory audit and ensure timely completion and submission
  • Support internal audits and facilitate resolution of audit queries
  • Drive compliance with secretarial requirements including annual return and ROC filings
  • Support strategic decision-making through cost analysis, financial insights, and reporting
  • Participate in CSR spend monitoring and ensure compliance with statutory CSR obligations

Requirements

  • 10–15 years of post-qualification experience in finance, accounting, and compliance roles, preferably with exposure to technology or service industries
  • Strong knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards, Companies Act, and direct/indirect tax laws
  • Expertise in payroll and statutory compliances
  • Experience with GST, transfer pricing, and tax audits
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite) and advanced Excel
  • Excellent analytical, coordination, and communication skills
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification
