Full job description

Smadex is seeking a Senior Ad Operations Manager for a hybrid role based in London, Barcelona, or Berlin. The candidate will partner with the EMEA AdOps Associate Director to lead operational excellence, risk mitigation, troubleshooting, and budget protection. Responsibilities include mentoring campaign managers, troubleshooting complex issues, data-driven decision making, executive communication, and cross-departmental alignment. Requirements include 5+ years in ad tech/ad operations, experience scaling teams, hands-on programmatic DSP experience, strong data-driven skills with Excel, excellent English communication, mentoring experience, familiarity with EMEA markets, and legal right to work in the UK/EU. What you'll do

  • Mentor, train, and run hands-on sessions for campaign managers and analysts
  • Foster a strong two-way feedback culture and apply proven scaling practices to evolve processes
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for complex troubleshooting in coordination with the team and cross-functional teams
  • Use statistical reasoning and incrementality thinking to drive operational decisions
  • Translate complex operational problems into clear, actionable reporting for Account Management and other teams
  • Represent Ad Operations across departments and resolve operational friction proactively

Requirements

  • 5+ years in ad tech / ad operations with direct ownership of troubleshooting and campaign strategy for a client portfolio
  • Proven experience scaling a function through growth at a previous company
  • Hands-on experience with programmatic DSPs
  • Strong data-driven approach leveraging statistical reasoning
  • Excel expertise
  • Excellent business-level English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proven track record of formally mentoring and training junior campaign managers or analysts
  • Familiarity with EMEA markets and cross-office stakeholder coordination
  • Current legal right to work in the UK/EU (no visa sponsorship provided)
