Full job description
Lead financial close processes monthly, quarterly, and annually per IFRS and Local GAAP. Oversee GL, AP, and intercompany activities including booking, payments, and reconciliations. Ensure timely balance sheet reconciliations and resolve open items. Coordinate statutory audits and tax filings internationally. Manage intercompany processes and collaborate with controlling, tax, and treasury teams. Drive improvements, standardization, and automation of accounting processes and internal controls. Manage and mentor accounting team. Requires 6-8 years accounting experience, 2-3 years team leadership, experience with HGB preferred, IFRS knowledge, ERP systems (preferably NetSuite), strong Excel skills, and fluency in English and German. What you'll do
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes in accordance with IFRS and Local GAAP
- Oversee GL, AP, and Intercompany activities including booking, payments, and reconciliations
- Ensure timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations and resolution of open items
- Coordinate and support statutory audits and tax filings across international entities
- Manage intercompany processes ensuring alignment and resolving discrepancies
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as controlling, tax, and treasury
- Drive continuous improvements, standardization, and automation of accounting processes and internal controls
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accountants
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is a plus
- 6–8 years of accounting experience with strong exposure to GL, AP, and intercompany processes
- 2–3 years of experience leading or mentoring a team
- Working experience with HGB is highly preferred
- IFRS experience is nice to have
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably NetSuite)
- Strong Excel skills
- Full professional proficiency in English and German (both written and spoken)
- Structured, detail-oriented, and proactive working style
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and focus on process improvement and automation
- Legal right to work in Germany (no visa sponsorship provided)
