Full job description

The Trade Desk seeks a Staff Accountant to join the Accounting Team reporting to the Accounting Associate Manager. Responsibilities include month-end close processes, journal entries, account reconciliations, daily cash reporting, treasury disclosures, audit assistance, and maintaining SOX internal controls. The role requires 0-2+ years in corporate accounting, knowledge of GAAP, advanced Excel skills, and strong communication. What you'll do

  • Participate in the month-end close process including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and general ledger transactions
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly flux and variance explanations
  • Prepare daily cash reporting and own cash related systems (ie. Kyriba)
  • Prepare treasury related quarterly disclosures (ie. cash, investments, debt)
  • Assist in researching, documenting, and implementing the impact of current accounting conventions
  • Respond to information requests and assist with audits
  • Continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
  • Be the main point of contact for inquiries from AR/AP/Tax/Equity related bank transactions
  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives
  • Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Assist management with special projects and ad-hoc requests, as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field preferred
  • 0-2+ years of experience in corporate accounting, public company experience a plus
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, while maintaining accuracy of information and attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and nested formulas
  • Self-starter and an exceptional team player
