Full job description

Merkle seeks a senior Account Director for Digital Transformation focused on client leadership and account management. This hybrid role is based in New York or Chicago and reports to the VP, Group Account Director. Responsibilities include managing client relationships, commercial health of engagements, stakeholder communication, and partnership with project managers. Candidates must have 7+ years in account management or client services within digital agencies or technology firms, experience with digital transformation projects including web/app development, UX, commerce platforms, and enterprise technology implementations. Proficiency in Salesforce or equivalent CRM and familiarity with content management or commerce platforms required. Strong communication, commercial acumen, and collaboration skills are essential. Salary range is $114,425 - $132,750. Benefits include medical, vision, dental, life insurance, disability insurance, 401k, flexible PTO, paid holidays, sick leave, and parental leave. Employees within commutable distance to hub offices are expected to work onsite three days per week.

What you'll do

  • Build trusted client relationships by understanding client business, goals, and working style
  • Stay attuned to client needs and emerging opportunities, proactively surfacing ideas and flagging risks
  • Manage day-to-day stakeholder communication with clarity and consistency
  • Own commercial health of engagements including revenue forecasting, scope monitoring, change order execution, and Salesforce accuracy
  • Partner with Project Managers and delivery leads to ensure work is on track and client expectations are grounded
  • Support renewal strategy and growth planning with senior account leaders and Client Partners
  • Contribute actively to account team culture by sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in account management or client services within a digital agency, consulting firm, or technology services organization
  • Experience working on Digital Transformation engagements including web/app development, UX, commerce platforms, or enterprise technology implementations
  • Conversant in how digital solutions are built to engage credibly with clients
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships with professionalism and care
  • Foundational commercial acumen including revenue forecasting, scope management, and financial mechanics of services engagements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience collaborating with Project Managers or Delivery leads on multi-workstream engagements
  • Working proficiency in Salesforce or equivalent CRM
  • Familiarity with one or more leading content management and/or commerce platforms
