Freestar seeks an SVP of Customer Success to lead post-sales, focusing on revenue growth through yield management and product adoption, and minimizing churn by ensuring service quality and technical stability. Responsibilities include strategy for upsell/cross-sell, partnering with Yield Management and Engineering, benchmarking supply quality, churn mitigation, technical proficiency leadership, final escalation point, managing leadership team, cross-functional alignment, and enterprise publisher engagement. Requires 7-10 years in senior customer success leadership preferably in ad tech, deep programmatic advertising knowledge (Prebid.js, Google Ad Manager, SPO), proven yield optimization success, leadership experience, technical acumen, and strong communication skills. What you'll do

  • Own the strategy for upsell and cross-sell initiatives across the publisher base to maximize earnings
  • Partner with Yield Management and Engineering to architect proactive yield strategies for revenue optimization at scale
  • Utilize industry data to benchmark supply quality and performance
  • Establish operational standards to identify at-risk publishers and deploy intervention plans to minimize churn
  • Drive technical proficiency across the team to reduce escalations and troubleshooting hops
  • Serve as final escalation point for high-stakes publisher situations
  • Manage VPs, Directors, and Associate Directors, providing mentorship and guidance
  • Define and refine cross-functional swimlanes with Publisher Support, Onboarding, Demand, Yield, and Engineering teams
  • Travel regularly to meet enterprise-level publishers and reinforce strategic partnerships

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of experience as a Head of Customer Success or in a senior executive leadership role, preferably within an ad tech company
  • Deep understanding of the programmatic advertising ecosystem, including header bidding (Prebid.js), ad serving mechanics (Google Ad Manager), and Supply Path Optimization (SPO)
  • Proven track record of developing and executing yield optimization strategies that drive measurable financial uplift for publishers
  • Demonstrated experience managing a multi-tiered leadership team and scaling technical organizations
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders while maintaining the ability to diagnose issues across web and mobile app environments
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the professional maturity to put high-stakes publishers and internal teams at ease
