Full job description

Primary HR Generalist role supporting Smartly's Manila employees. Responsible for day-to-day HR operations and employee support across the employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance with Philippine labor laws. Collaborate with employees, managers, and global HR teams to deliver consistent HR services. Manage HRIS data in Workday, support reporting, and improve HR processes using AI tools. Requires 3+ years HR experience, knowledge of Philippine labor laws, experience with Workday or similar platforms, and ability to work mid-shift (2pm-11pm). What you'll do

  • Serve as primary HR contact for Philippines-based employees and managers
  • Provide day-to-day guidance on people-related topics ensuring positive employee experience and alignment with global practices
  • Execute core HR processes across employee lifecycle including onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, employee documentation, and HRIS transactions
  • Ensure compliance with Philippine labor laws and statutory requirements (DOLE, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR)
  • Maintain accurate employee data in Workday, conduct audits, and support local and global reporting
  • Partner with managers on HR topics such as policy guidance, employee relations, and performance processes
  • Support key People programs including performance reviews, calibration discussions, engagement initiatives, manager training, and performance management
  • Collaborate with global People teams (Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Legal, IT) for aligned and scalable operations
  • Partner with senior HRBP on complex employee matters
  • Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and scale HR processes using AI-enabled tools
  • Use data, reporting, and technology to improve HR operations and employee experience

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • At least 3+ years of HR experience with a solid foundation in HR operations and employee-facing HR support
  • Good knowledge of Philippine labor laws and statutory requirements
  • Amenable to work on a mid-shift (2pm to 11pm)
  • Experience using Workday or similar platforms and working with HR data and reporting
  • Experience supporting managers and employees on day-to-day HR topics including policy interpretation, employee relations, and performance-related processes
  • Interest in using technology and AI-enabled tools to improve workflows and scale HR support
  • Strong judgment and professionalism handling sensitive employee matters
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across teams and locations
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proactive, hands-on approach to solving problems and improving processes
  • Comfort working independently locally while partnering with a global People team
