Full job description

Refinery89 seeks a mid-level Accountant for a full-time remote role based in Spain. The candidate will manage key accounting operations including accounts payable, payment runs, expense approvals, payroll support, and maintaining accurate financial records. Requires 5+ years of accounting or finance experience, fluency in Spanish and English, strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently. Experience in international companies and AdTech/digital media sectors is a plus. What you'll do

  • Process and manage accounts payable invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Prepare and execute weekly payment runs through banking platforms
  • Review and approve employee expenses in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Review payroll information and support payroll-related accounting processes
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions
  • Respond to internal finance and accounting inquiries from employees and stakeholders
  • Support the continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls
  • Assist with recurring accounting activities and other finance-related projects as required

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance-related roles
  • Professional fluency in both Spanish and English, written and spoken
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage responsibilities independently
  • Proactive, responsible, and solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Dutch language skills (nice to have)
  • Experience working in international companies (nice to have)
  • Experience in technology, digital media, AdTech, or fast-growing business environments (nice to have)
