Full job description

Senior Data Engineer role requiring 3+ years experience developing and extending large complex systems. Must have a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field. Technical skills include Scala, Java, Spark, Hadoop, Hive, and Object Oriented Programming languages such as C#, Python, C++, Java. Responsibilities include creating maintainable code processing ~35 billion events daily, utilizing a large private Hadoop cluster, designing data ingestion pipelines at scale, and ensuring data quality and integrity. Work in a team of 5-7 with mentorship and knowledge sharing. Hybrid work model based in Bucharest, Romania and Paris, France. What you'll do

  • Create high quality, maintainable code processing and analyzing ~35 billion events daily
  • Utilize one of the largest private Hadoop clusters in the world
  • Design and perfect data ingestion pipelines at scale for large streaming data
  • Own and continuously improve quality, reliability, and integrity of critical large-scale datasets
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and trustworthiness of data assets across Hadoop ecosystem
  • Work in a team of 5-7 with close mentorship, participate in knowledge-sharing sessions
  • Actively voice ideas and learn to build and ship quality production code, assisted by AI agents

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience with developing and extending large and complex systems
  • Master in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field
  • Familiarity with Scala/Java, Spark/Hadoop/Hive
  • Relevant experience in Object Oriented Programming (C#, Python, C++, Java)
  • Curious about innovative technologies
  • Positive, collaborative problem-solving attitude
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Passionate about shipping high quality code
  • Good level of English (at least B2 intermediate)
