Full job description

The Trade Desk is hiring a full-time Sales Development Representative based in Chicago. The role involves outbound prospecting and sales development to increase outbound demand velocity in North America. Responsibilities include executing outbound outreach, conducting introductory conversations, assessing customer needs, meeting monthly goals, collaborating with sales and marketing teams, and managing activities in Salesforce. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree, 4+ years of business development experience, strong communication skills, cold calling experience, and prior advertising technology experience. What you'll do

  • Construct and execute outbound outreach to a defined prospect list
  • Execute outbound prospecting initiatives
  • Conduct high-level introductory conversations to understand prospect goals and challenges
  • Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate features, benefits, and value
  • Spend several hours daily on the phone with prospective clients
  • Meet monthly individual goals and job SLAs
  • Collaborate with Growth Team Sales and Marketing to provide feedback on campaign performance
  • Improve lead qualification and lead scoring
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage, track, and report activities and results using Salesforce
  • Determine appropriate business approach for potential clients

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of relevant business development experience
  • Comfort and confidence with cold calling and sending outbound emails daily
  • Ability to promote/sell ideas persuasively
  • Complex problem solving skills
  • Interest in business development at a technology company
  • Previous advertising technology experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fundamental understanding of the sales process
  • Experience with Salesforce or internal CRM tools is a plus
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams

  • Adtech or Martech experience is a big plus
