Full job description

Senior Cloud Network Engineer responsible for design, implementation, and operation of cloud-native and hybrid network architectures across AWS, GCP, and Azure. Key duties include building hybrid connectivity, managing DNS strategy, implementing security controls, designing private service access, enforcing network segmentation and zero-trust models, developing infrastructure-as-code, establishing monitoring and observability, leading incident response, partnering with security teams, maintaining documentation, mentoring engineers, and evaluating new cloud networking technologies. Requires 7+ years in network engineering with 3+ years in cloud networking, expert knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, VPN, DNS, TLS, load balancing, hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, Azure networking services, proficiency in Terraform, network observability, troubleshooting skills, experience in regulated environments, and willingness for on-call support. Preferred skills include multi-cloud certifications, zero-trust access implementation, scripting (Python, Bash, Go), Kubernetes networking, and FinOps practices.

What you'll do

  • Design, implement, and operate cloud network architectures across AWS, GCP, and Azure
  • Build and maintain hybrid connectivity using Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, Cloud Interconnect, VPN
  • Own DNS strategy and operations in the cloud
  • Implement and tune edge and application-layer security controls
  • Design private service access patterns enabling secure traffic without public exposure
  • Define and enforce network segmentation, micro-segmentation, and zero-trust patterns
  • Develop infrastructure-as-code for repeatable network provisioning
  • Establish monitoring, logging, and tracing for network paths
  • Lead incident response and root-cause analysis for complex connectivity issues
  • Partner with Security on DDoS mitigation, TLS lifecycle, egress filtering, threat detection, and compliance
  • Maintain network documentation, architecture diagrams, runbooks, and standards
  • Mentor network and cloud engineers and champion automation and operational maturity
  • Evaluate emerging cloud networking capabilities and recommend adoption
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in network engineering or infrastructure roles
  • 3+ years focused on cloud networking in production environments
  • Expert-level understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, BGP, VPN, DNS, TLS, load balancing
  • Hands-on experience designing and operating AWS networking and comparable GCP/Azure services
  • Practical experience with GCP Private Service Connect, Cloud DNS, Cloud Armor, VPC peering/shared VPC, Azure Virtual WAN, Private Link, Application Gateway WAF
  • Strong proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred)
  • Experience with network observability, flow analysis, capacity planning, operational metrics
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across layers and communicate clearly
  • Experience in regulated or security-sensitive environments with change management and audit-ready documentation
  • Self-directed with strong prioritization skills in 24x7 operational contexts
  • Willingness to participate in after-hours on-call rotation
