Full job description

Smadex is an ad-tech company processing over 4.5 million ad requests per second. We seek a full-time hybrid Android Developer based in Barcelona to transform our advertising SDK from prototype to product. Responsibilities include writing Kotlin and Java code, migrating Java prototype to Kotlin, implementing features, debugging, and collaborating with iOS and backend teams. Requirements: foundational Android development knowledge, Kotlin and Java skills, RESTful API experience, proactive learning attitude, and bilingual Spanish and English communication. Bonus: Android SDK/library experience, multithreading, unit testing frameworks, personal projects, iOS familiarity. No visa sponsorship provided.

What you'll do

  • Write clean, maintainable, and proof-tested Java and Kotlin code for Android SDK
  • Collaborate with SDK team to implement new features and complete core functionalities
  • Migrate existing Java prototype to Kotlin and modern Android standards
  • Identify, debug, and resolve performance issues and bugs
  • Participate in feature definitions, code reviews, and provide/receive constructive feedback
  • Work with iOS SDK and backend teams to ensure a unified and robust product

Requirements

  • Foundational understanding of Android development and the application lifecycle
  • Solid programming skills in Kotlin
  • Familiarity with Java
  • Familiarity with consuming RESTful APIs
  • Strong desire to learn and proactive attitude
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Great communication skills in both Spanish and English
  • Passion for mobile technology and staying updated with latest advancements
