Full job description

Basis Technologies is hiring an AI Engineer to build AI-powered features into enterprise SAP products. The role is hybrid based in Bracknell, UK, requiring 2 days per week in office. Responsibilities include building AI features using shared AI infrastructure, developing MCP servers, predictive and analytical models, and implementing AI integration patterns with Engineering and Architecture teams. Required skills: AI/ML production experience, knowledge of LLM systems, RAG patterns, prompt engineering, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, REST API design, MLOps, anomaly detection, predictive analytics, and API/integration layer development. Desirable skills include graph-based dependency analysis, compliance/governance AI features, and SAP BTP ecosystem familiarity. What you'll do

  • Build new AI-powered features and analysers for enterprise products, reusing shared AI infrastructure
  • Build MCP servers to expose product data and functionality to AI capabilities
  • Develop predictive and analytical models to surface risks, improve workflows, and support decision-making
  • Build evaluation and quality processes for all AI features, aligned with the centralised evaluation framework
  • Implement AI integration patterns in close collaboration with Engineering and Architecture teams

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in AI engineering, building AI/ML features into production systems
  • Working knowledge of LLM systems, RAG patterns, and prompt engineering
  • Experience designing AI integration patterns for enterprise software
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals: Python, TypeScript or JavaScript, REST API design, MLOps
  • Experience with anomaly detection or predictive analytics on structured operational data
  • Experience building APIs and integration layers, MCP servers, tool-calling patterns, or similar service interfaces
  • Familiarity with graph-based dependency analysis or impact analysis techniques (desirable)
  • Background in building AI features that support compliance and governance workflows (desirable)
  • Familiarity with SAP BTP ecosystem (desirable)
